About Me
My career began in 1985 when I founded my first business as a gold and silversmith in Schoonhoven, the Netherlands. In 1996, I co-founded Atelier Artis Causa with Huub Rogier. After 25 years of successful collaboration, it was time to begin a new chapter. In 2020, I returned to working independently and established Atelier Bees.
At the heart of my work lies a passion for both thinking and creating: uniting design with craftsmanship. My work is strongly influenced by a desire for symmetry and architectural forms, with a preference for repeating (often geometric) patterns. I am always seeking the perfect balance between aesthetics and technique. Over the years, this dedication has led to numerous awards, the making of royal gifts, and contributions to museum collections. I love challenges, especially those designs that initially appear impossible to make. My competitive nature drives me to push boundaries and explore new possibilities. The idea of creating something new keeps me motivated.
In essence, my career is a journey of ongoing development, fueled by the love of my craft, trying to achieve perfection and the desire to create meaningful, enduring designs.
